Photo Contest winner

Congratulations to Carpenter’s Shelter, winner of our holiday photo contest!

The winning picture features Carpenter’s Shelter residents who participated in the Give Before You Get Holiday Program. This project enables local homeless and underserved individuals from the metro D.C. area to deliver Christmas gifts to local hospital patients.  Courtney Bishop, Volunteer Coordinator for Carpenter’s Shelter, said “One of the things we try to do at Carpenter's Shelter is lead by example for our clients. We have over a thousand volunteers each year that help us further our mission of ending homeless. I think our clients see the importance of giving back and how far a person's time or even smile can go.”

For submitting the winning photo, the organization receives a free ticket to the NVAVA Annual Meeting and Luncheon in May.
